Acts Of Kindness
Meals Delivered:
To date, Acts of Kindness CT has delivered over 10,000 meals to shelters, encampments, and healthcare centers across Connecticut. These meals are the result of a coordinated food recovery system that redirects surplus baked goods into consistent, reliable support for individuals experiencing homelessness as well as frontline healthcare environments. Each delivery represents a direct connection between local surplus and meaningful community impact.
Students Engaged:
More than 75 students participate each year in structured baking, volunteer, and service programs that combine hands-on contribution with leadership development. Through these experiences, students take an active role in food preparation, community service, and outreach efforts, building skills in teamwork, responsibility, and civic engagement. This ongoing involvement creates a strong foundation for youth leadership and sustained community participation.
Partners Activated:
Acts of Kindness CT is supported by a growing network of local and national partners committed to addressing food waste and food insecurity. These include Lox Stock & Bagels, Bruegger’s Bagels, Hartford Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Saint Francis Hospital, and Hartford Hospital’s Neighborhood Health Team. These partnerships are essential to our model, enabling consistent food recovery, reliable distribution channels, and long-term sustainability. Together, these collaborators help expand our reach and strengthen the impact of every initiative we lead.
